Job Overview

The Specimen Management Associate is responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assists with receipt, opening, and quality check of consignments and shipments, escalating any issues to senior staff.

• Ensures correct disposal and recycling of shipping supplies, preventing specimens from being left in packaging.

• Handles shipping for long-term storage or clients and manages sample disposition.

• May handle receipt of compounds and control material depending on functional area.

• Supports after-hour alarms and critical job functions, assisting in equipment maintenance.

• Manages supply inventory and workstation cleanliness, performing general cleanup tasks.

• Performs administrative duties and organizes the work area as directed by management.

• Follows safety procedures, participates in continuing education, and adheres to company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

What We Are Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent  

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

·Please keep in mind that this role requires flexibility in working various shift patterns, which may include weekends.

·Equivalent combination of education, training and experience

·Basic Computer skills.

·Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.

·Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
