Laboratory Automation Scientist

We are seeking a Laboratory Automation Scientist to join Q² Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in our Durham, NC location.

As a Laboratory Automation Scientist, you will be developing new strategies and methods to improve high throughput laboratory automation processes. You will be working closely with the automation team and other departments to design innovative automation solutions. Also, projects will require your experience in molecular biology and proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, including automation platforms. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Enhancing departmental and business objectives through technology.
• Working with team members and internal clients in Laboratory Operations, Assay Development, and Information Technology to refine processes and coordinate activities.
• Defining requirements and plans and contributing to laboratory project protocols.
• Aligning ongoing technology reviews with business strategy.
• Assisting in developing experimental techniques and executing validation protocols.
• Managing relationships and communicating across functions with partners and customers.
• Reviewing and writing SOPs, technical reports, protocols, and analyses.
• Ensuring data quality and adhering to regulatory requirements through continuous education.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (i.e. molecular biology.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of in molecular biology or related scientific discipline, with demonstrated industry experience in a laboratory setting utilizing or developing automation solutions.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory operating under GxP and/or CLIA guidelines.
• Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

• Proficiency in handling and preparing samples, along with relevant laboratory techniques.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical handling, complemented by strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Capable of multitasking with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
• Effective organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work closely with team members.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $59,400.00 - $89,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
